One of my favorite short films to come out of 2014 was Robert Kondo and Daisuke Tsutsumi’s the Dam Keeper. It tells the story of Pig, an introverted youth who lives in a windmill and keeps a dark fog from engulfing his town. Although socially rejected by his peers, he is befriended by the artistic Fox. The film was created by Tonko House and has beautiful colour and mood throughout the film despite being very light on sound/dialogue.
This film inspired me with its sweet story and very moody atmosphere. Despite having very cute characters it still conveys a fairly mature storyline.
