I’ve cracked the code! Below I’ve put my new approach to the narrative arc of my film:
Part 1: Linear, outside shot, morning, to closet (getting dressed) to grocery store (largely empty cuz covid) kind of a linear shot by shot story clear (edited)
Part 2: (music gets faster) In the apartment, lots of establishing shots of different main areas – kitchen, couch, bed, table etc
Part 3: Music gets FAST lots of repeating shots of those established areas over and over with (small) changes to them bed, couch, stove, bed, stove, couch (repetition) – if I have time I’d like to vary the lighting/times of day as if time has stopped being linear
Part 4: Music returns to slow (part 1) silent wholesome moment relaxing and drawing for a few seconds
Part 5: Music gets weirdest yet and kinda abstract – same flashes of the main locations kitchen/bed/couch/table but everything is reduced to shapes, not fully rendered and painted, sort of sketchy and abstract as a reference to part 4 drawing shot
Part 6: back to slow like the beginning, shot of night time skyline and the date flicks one day forward on the clock then fades to black + goes to credits (edited)
